Cyclestreets.net is a brilliant little website for bicyclists. Just enter where you are and where you want to go and it will take you a proper cyclists route, tell you the distance, how quiet or otherwiseit will be and how many calories you will burn completing it.
This is extraordinary. You can actually choose a route to avoid unnecessary hills. Excellent for the part-time cyclist!

Tredz Bikes

Yet again excellent first class service from the lads at Tredz Cardiff !! They always make sure any work to be carried out on my bikes whether small or large is always rectified so I never miss my weekend ride. All staff are very friendly and accomodating every time I visit. Bit shocked by some of the reviews to be honest !! I would never dream of going elsewhere for any of my cycling needs. Thanks lads keep up the good work.

Excellent service each and every time! Very professional and knowledgeable staff, both James and Simon I can't recommend enough. Now I'm race ready. Thank you.

The Bike Shop Wales, Penarth.

My headset was wobbly and two other shops had given me explanations that didn't make sense. I went to The Bike Shop and they immediately diagnosed the real problem, fixed it, and explained exactly what had been wrong. Excellent shop, would go to them all the time if I lived here.

I cannot recommend highly enough. Nothing too much trouble for this place. I've lost count now of the number of times I've gone in wanting advice/something fixed. I wouldn't buy a bike, adults or child's, anywhere else now. As my 9 year old son said about the owner after he fixed his scooter, 'he is a great man'. I totally agree. Asset to Penarth.

Cycle Hire

Pedal Power

Cardiff Bay Barage, Cardiff CF10 4PA, UK – 029 2039 0713

They have all kinds of cycles - we hired a quadri-cycle which was fun to ride on. It was little costly though! If you get the normal bikes, you can go the entire cycle route around the bay. The guide you with the route to take.

We booked two bikes for a day with Pedal Power. We met Graham at the bike shed in Cardiff Bay, he was absolutely lovely, being biking novices he helped us with our bikes and kitted us up and even suggested biking trails for us to try. We chose the Taff trail and had a wonderful time biking up to Castle Coch and back. We got to try out the Tandem bike when we returned our bikes the next day. Pedal power is a registered charity, so while you are doing something that is good for you, you are doing something that is good for someone else who needs it too.
